Seasonal Banners ~

Our marketing committee is currently considering production of seasonal banners to be installed at the traffic light posts on Lytton, University and Hamilton Avenues. These banners will be seasonal and remain hung for 45 day intervals. We would love to see the community at large become involved through the Palo Alto schools by participating in a design competition.

Winter Festival ~

We are planning a winter fest to be held downtown in January of 2007, with the intent of promoting visitorship to our downtown at a time that is typically post holiday slow.

A blanket permit will be obtained from the Ciy of Palo Alto to accomodate sidewalk sales, outdoor dining and entertainment.

Friday Night Promenade ~

The creation of a promenade on University Avenue is under consideration. Every first friday night of each month throughout the summer, the span of University Avenue from Emerson street to Cowper street will be closed to through vehicle traffic. This street closure will allow for the creation of a Promenade, whereby all businesses downtown will be granted an encroachment permit to allow for outdoor dining, live entertainment and merchant sales.
