Sherry Bijan stepped down from the position of President of Palo Alto Downtown Business & Professional Association (“PAd”)
effective May 31, 2010. In her four years with PAd, Sherry has accomplished a great deal. Through her efforts, downtown restaurants
have complied with Palo Alto’s encroachment ordinances. Along with the Friends of Lytton Plaza, Sherry contributed to the renovation
of Lytton Plaza, now a beautiful downtown gathering spot. Sherry has worked with City staff on a number of projects and advocated
strongly on behalf of the more than 800 PAd members. During her tenure, Sherry continued PAd’s ongoing programs, such as Dine
Downtown, helped administer several special projects and involved herself in the fabric of downtown Palo Alto.
Though saddened by Sherry’s departure, PAd looks forward to continuing to strengthen Downtown Palo Alto. PAd will begin an active
search for and solicitation of candidates to serve as its new face, and will continue to advocate for downtown businesses, work closely
with the City of Palo Alto on issues facing new and existing businesses in the downtown area, while increasing its focus on marketing
and events to highlight Palo Alto’s thriving downtown.
